Diy cork jar tops from recycled cork

I dried and prepared tea in some glass jars a while back. I reused instant coffee jars, but didn't want to use the original plastic caps. For a while I used paper with string as a makeshift cap - looked good, but wasn't practical. So I tried to recycle unused cork pin board and glued together something that resembled a cork cap.

    1. Material-wise I didn't need much - only the said cork, glue, a bit of sandpaper, scissors and a sharp knife. Traced out roughly the shape needed for the cap.

    2. I cut out four pieces for one cap. I could use more or less, but four seemed to be just right. At this point I glued the pieces together and left them to dry under some weight.

    3. After it dried I cut off the excess cork so that the cap could fit in the jar. Here I could have sanded these caps way more, but I left them as is, because with my eyesight, they look good enough.
