Book recycling - Hidden book box

This is one project from the series about recycling books. The project is quite simple and in time I will probably revise it and improve upon this idea. But for now enjoy this little book recycling project.

1. First we will need a box and some old books (how much depends on the width of the box, you wan't it to cover the whole box) and also a glue gun wouldn't hurt, but any glue will do.

2. Here I used a premade wood box, but a cardboard one will also work.

3. This part of the project is simply dismantling the books.

4. Cut out the text block with a paper knife.

5. Cut of the backs of all the books. Those are what we will need for this project.

6. Arrange them side by side so that you can see how many backs you'll still need.

7. All the hard covers and text blocks will be used later for other projects.

8. Take a piece of cardboard, which should cover the whole side of the box. You can also go bigger than the box, the main thing is that it hides the box.

9. Arrange the backs in whatever order you think is best, and using the glue gun ( or any glue ), glue them down on the board.

10. Cut off all the excess cardboard.

11. And you should have a neat imitation book end board.

12. Last part is the simplest, but the most satisfying. Glue the board to the box.
Also if you like this project you might be interested in a similar project you can find here.

13. And as you can see in the picture above you can hardly see where it is.
