Product gift box as a wall lamp

Boxes like this one often come with special beer glasses included and few special edition beer bottles. What's left is a giant box which has no other practical use. But in this case the box has a phoenix on the cover and so I thought of a lamp.

I used only few materials for this project: A LED light strips, a 12v dc battery, light diffusion film from a old broken laptop LCD screen, a knife and glue.

I used two LED strips - one was flexible and one was with a hard back. But you can also use only one type, I just did not want to waste a perfectly good LED strip that I didn't use.

I soldered these strips together in continuity (made it a single LED strip).

After tracing out the bird on the inside on the opposite side of the cover using a marker, I glued the LED strip within the lines.

Now I only added the battery. If you want to make it brighter, you can try to scrape of some layers of paper on the backside of the cover as the material is quite thick.
