Rag blanket, easy diy
Everyone most likely has a pile of old clothes which are too worn to be given away, but too dear to just throw away. So why not give them a second life?
For this you will need:
Using scissors, cut clothes in equal shapes and sizes. You can cut however you like, but keeping the pieces in similar size makes it easier to sow.
1. Old rags;
2. Imagination;
3. Patience;
4. A needle and string or better yet a sowing machine;
5. Scrissors;
Using scissors, cut clothes in equal shapes and sizes. You can cut however you like, but keeping the pieces in similar size makes it easier to sow.
These cut pieces then place just how you would like your blanket to look. Imagination here will be of great help.
Now take the pieces and sow them together vertically or horizontally in columns and then sow thes columns together so it starts to look like a blanket.
Now take the pieces and sow them together vertically or horizontally in columns and then sow thes columns together so it starts to look like a blanket.
Now you have the first half done. You can also end it here and you will have a thin blanket to cover something up, maybe evade mosquitos in the summer months.
But if you want something to keep yourself warm during the winter months, make a second blanket in the same size. Then sow these two parts together. You can also fill the blanket wit some dunes or something to give extra insulation. But it is up to your desires.
